Paul Eales of England claimed his maiden senior tour title by winning the Scottish Senior Open at Archerfield Golf Course in Scotland.

After trailing the overnight leader Ronan Rafferty by seven strokes he moved to eight under par with a birdie on his second hole of the day, he then bogeyed the Par 3 eighth hole to give the one stroke back putting him back to level par on the day.

However, a string of birdies on the 10th hole, 11th Hole and the 12th hole saw Eales rocket up the leader board eventually finishing with a four under par 68 for his final day of the tournament.

Eales later admitted that he hadn’t kept an eye on the leader board and was unaware of his position after his run of three birdies, the three consecutive birdies put himself alongside Peter Fowler, Santiago Luna and also Ronan Rafferty.

Eales had special praise for his wife Sharon who was on his bag for the tournament and has been caddying for him on the Senior Tour, he dedicated the win to her for helping him win the tournament and also for a special and memorable weekend.

Eales also had praise for his peers after the event who welcomed his win and bestowed lots of congratulations for his efforts, he later claimed that all of that made his weekend very special.
Australian Peter Fowler shot a final round 67 to share second place with Spaniard Luna, who shot 74.
