Tiger Woods comeback

Tiger Woods comeback

With all the media hype going into overdrive before his comeback and with less than a week after his much-anticipated return to professional golf the Tiger Woods comeback at the Hero Golf Challenge in the Bahamas last weekend was nothing short of spectacular! Tiger Woods comeback - Tiger Woods

It is without a doubt the game of golf is better off with a fit and competitive Tiger Woods than without him, TV viewings increased by the millions, fellow golf pro’s in full praise of his new ‘easier on the back’ golf swing and there were the unbelievable golf shots with 3 woods and long iron stingers that every golfer on the planet wished they had in their bag.

Tiger Woods comeback is perfect timing for the great man himself to now evaluate his overall game after the event and then get his diary out and pencil in a few golf tournaments and majors for the 2018 golfing calendar – I would say his focus would be on the US Masters in April 2018 as the ultimate gauge to see how his overall game has withstood such a long layoff from competitive golf.

But leading up to the US Masters I would think that he would sprinkle in a couple of events in his home state of California prior to swinging over to his adopted state of Florida to finish off the lead in process prior to the first major of the year at Augusta National.

I know Tiger’s diary has yet to be published for 2018 but I would anticipate the following to get him ready for Augusta:

AT & T Pro-Am – Pebble Beach CA
• Genesis Open – Riviera Country Club CA
• Honda Classic – Palm Beach Gardens FL
• Arnold Palmer Invitational – Bay Hill FL
• Houston Open – Houston TX ( Possibly )

Tiger Woods comeback - Tiger WoodsHe might plump for another event somewhere else but Tiger is not after the ‘cash’ anymore and solely after another ‘four or five’ majors to either equal or beat the Jack Nicklaus major haul of 18, it is a fact that with players like Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh and Miguel Ángel Jiménez still playing fantastic golf well into their later years – the thought of Tiger winning more majors is now a distinct possibility but it’s all down to keeping fit and especially keeping his back strong.

Tiger Woods Comeback – The Verdict for 2018 – ‘Tiger to win on the PGA Tour again and a major rolled in there for good measure is the most likely outcome’, the fire in his eyes at the Hero World Challenge told you that!

I personally think if he is fit enough he will make a decent comeback, might not be winning major golf tournaments but definitely being in the frame for PGA Tournaments or co sanctioned European Tour events too. He is definitely not doing it for the money because he has plenty of cash to last a lifetime! Anyway good article on Tiger Woods comeback and lets wish him all the luck with his new comeback.

    Cheers,
    Richard
