So if you have purchased a gadget that seemed like it was going to improve your golf game as you had hoped that it would, please stop buying gimmicky gadgets because I got caught in the same trap for many years and they certainly didn’t improve my game, understanding the mechanics of the golf swing helped my game not gadgets.

As you can appreciate most gadgets that are on the market require you to strap this bit to your golf club, slip this gadget under your arm for better ball contact, lay this bit of equipment on the ground, so hopefully you are now getting the picture, you will end up with a pile of golf gadgets just clogging up your garage or shed at home gathering dust.

You also have to remember that none of these gadgets is allowed to be used on the golf course during any competition of event so not really worth spending out good money on them, they may be good for using on the golf driving range but that is all thrown out of the water once you get on the first tee to play 18 holes of golf, unless you have a fantastic muscle memory that can draw on those swing thoughts when using the golf gadget you have purchased.

This time of the year the days are getting longer and the winter days are slowly but surely starting to get behind us, so as the weather warms up and the playing conditions are getting better you should really go back to basics and I mean the basics and get your golf grip sorted – you may ask why would I want to do that when my golf grip as always been fine, to you it might have been fine but in reality I doubt if it is?

I am going to let you into a secret – before the start of any new golfing calendar or golfing season the Great Jack Nicklaus would visit his coach and the first thing he would make sure was correct again for the season ahead was his golf grip – yes his golf grip! Stop Buying Golf Gadgets - The Complete Golf Grip

You may wonder why would such a great golfer like Jack Nicklaus need to visit his swing coach and learn about the golf grip, well Jack knew as always that the basics of a good golf swing starts with the golf grip, this maybe the overlapping grip, the interlocking grip or in some cases the baseball grip but none the less the golf grip had to be correct.

I think you make a very good point here.

All this technology and development keeps coming along and in the end the basics are getting overlooked.

There is nothing that is going to improve your game except the sheer willing to practice.

I think all these gadgets can be well and good, but like you say, they do not improve your skills as a golfer.

Rather than spend all the money on useless gadgets, id prefer to save a little and purchase a new Driver!

Great to get back to basics.

    Thanks

    Chris

Aw man, but it’s so much easier to read about and purchase then it is to actually practice and work on your swing! Haha
There’s no substitute for hard work in any sport really. It’s nice to get confirmation before spending the $$ on this stuff though.
Do you have a #1 most useless gadget that you have seen out on the golf course?
