Golf is Not a Game of Perfect
Golf is Not a Game of Perfect
This book is a must read for any golfer that wants to take his or her game to the next level from where they are currently at, the book called Golf is Not a Game of Perfect has been on the market for many years but I have only just got around to reading it, I wish I had purchased it a long time ago!
Written by one of the top golf performance coaches in the world, unlike many sporting guru’s Dr Bob Rotella goes deep into the mind of the games sporting greats such as Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Kite, Nick Price and Fred Couples to name but a few, his approach to the game will have you in awe of his techniques.
From mental preparation of even the weekend golfer to the best touring professionals in the world this book will have you taking a totally different approach when you next tee it up on the golf course, some of the things he talks about are so basic but are so true – if you are serious about improving your game, especially from the 120 yard mark where most golf tournaments or club competitions are won and lost you will want to read this book, I personally didn’t want to put it down until I had finished the book that is how gripping and informative the content is.
He has filled the book with great stories that will bring it to life and you will be able to relate to exactly what he is saying, you will be able to recall times when all of these examples have happened to you in real life and also on the golf course, the book will have you embracing all of those areas of your game that you fear when out playing golf, from chipping over bunkers to a tight pin and also slick and very fast downhill putts, you will hopefully start looking forward to those shots instead of bringing back past memories of failing in these areas so often before.
Here are a few of the testimonials that go with the book:
Bob Rotella’s knowledge and practical approach to psychology have been an enormous help to me. He has an uncanny knack of being able to turn the most complicated situation into a simple one.
I was at a point where I was taking golf so seriously that I wasn’t enjoying it anymore. Bob Rotella taught me to throw away doubt and fear, and as a result, I am enjoying golf, learning more, and playing better.
In the first twelve years of my life on the PGA Tour, I had established myself as a pretty decent player but had only won five official tournaments. In the ten years since meeting Doc, I have won fourteen tournaments, played on the Ryder Cup team, and won my first major, the U.S. Open. To say that I think Doc has helped make me a better player would be an understatement.
Dr Bob Rotella is one of the hottest golfing performance consultants in the world today.
Unlike other performance consultants, Rotella goes beyond the usual mental aspects of the game and the reliance on specific techniques. In this extraordinary book, and with his clients, he creates an attitude and a mindset about all aspects of the golfer’s game, from mental preparation to competition. And, as some of the world’s greatest golfers will attest, the results are spectacular. Filled with charming and insightful stories about golf and the golfers Rotella works with, Golf Is not a Game of Perfect will improve the game of even the most casual weekend player.

Since I have read the book I have put a few of his routines and methods into practice and it does work, but I will keep refining his methods until they are ingrained into my game.
I hope that you enjoy the book as much as I did – happy reading.
