Golf Grip Training Aids

Golf Grip Training Aids

Having a good golf grip is a must from the start, a bit like when you are building a house if you get the foundations wrong from the offset then your golf swing is going to have flaws just like a house with bad foundations in place, I have found that the only way to get golfers to get a correct grip is by using golf grip training aids to get them underway!

Mental

I cannot stress this point enough WITHOUT a good golf grip your golf will NEVER improve, sure you will have good days on the golf course when everything came together and you had a good round but for the long term your game will not improve, so having a good solid, reliable and repeatable golf grip will DEFINITELY improve your all round golf game.

So what options do you have, well you can have a golf lesson with a golf professional who will show what a correct golf grip is, but then it’s down to you to go away after the lesson and persevere with the new shown golf grip and put it into practice on the golf driving range and also the golf course, but then that’s when the problem sneaks in and you revert back to your old and more comfortable golf grip and forget about the new golf grip you have been taught by your local golf professional – so you might just go around in circles and get nowhere – but if you do persevere with it the new grip shown you by your local golf professional then it will certainly yield better results.

Short

However, if you are like the majority of golfers you might need to look at other options because of the time and the cost involved in having a lesson, so you might need to have something you can keep in your golf bag, use at home or in the office, basically being able to get the feel of a new golf grip by using golf grip training aids – this might be your only option if golf lessons are not sorting out your problem?

On YouTube you will find numerous amounts of videos showing you how to get that perfect grip but you might just be in the same boat as when you had a golf lesson, trying to understand golf professionals tuition on the golf grip can be daunting, show two knuckles on your left hand, place the club in the pad of your hand, get those ‘V’s’ pointing over your right shoulder, too much information can make you even more confused about what a golf grip should be like!

Personally I have found the best way to get a good grip is with the use of golf grip training aids which are not going to cost you the national debt to buy and at a fraction of the cost of an hour’s lesson with a golf professional, my personal favourite is this easy to use gizmo I found online, I also made a video to go with it, you can use it for getting the best golf grip and also for use as a warm up tool prior to practising or playing a round of golf because it also has a weight on the end of it, have a look at the video:

However, if you are short on time and find that this particular golf grip training aid is not for you, then this other option which can be clipped to your golf bag for use when on the golf course ( not in competitions though ) practising or when on the driving range:

Testimonial from a happy customer which basically sums this little golf grip training gizmo up really –

“I absolutely love this. I have always had problems with my grip, I have seen a million clips on YouTube about correcting it but never really felt right. This little thing corrected my problem INSTANTLY. Looks like a dodgy gimmick, I’ll admit. But goes on so easily, and you can feel the difference the second you start hitting balls”

This grip training aid looks a little complicated but once you fully understand the way it works your game will definitely improve because of the use of a correct golf grip, both of the golf grip training aids I have outlined will certainly enhance your game and put you on the right track to a very stable foundation for your golf game – Here is another article put together about the golf grip which you might also find useful CLICK HERE to read the article.

Thank you for the article on the training aids for your grip! I have taken numerous lessons (as you mentioned) and have found that I wasn’t really prepared with the grip part of the instruction. I also found that most instructors will have a hard time explaining to you, especially if you cant get it in your head. As you mention , it might be best to start with a training aid so that you can wrap your head around the way your hands should be. Then play and then take a lesson. That would probably be the best value for the money you spend on the lesson because then you can put it all together.
