Cheap golf breaks in Spain

Over the course of any given year there is no better way to guarantee a week of sunshine playing golf so there are many options to choose from for cheap golf breaks in Spain, after just returning from the Costa del Sol and playing at two golf courses here is a bit of a rundown on how to get the best deals for your golfing break. Cheap golf breaks in Spain - Mijas Los Olivos

If you want to have the choice of playing unlimited golf for a certain duration look no further than the Mijas Golf International resort – it has two golf courses the first being the championship layout of Los Lagos and then the second course being Los Olivos, Los Olivos is the shorter and easier of the two course layouts.

Los Lagos Golf Course

Yellow Visitor tees measure 6,307 metres so approx. 7,000 yards and plays to a par of 72, the length of Los Lagos is bearable even though it sounds a long course because there is hardly any rough to speak of but there are many holes with plenty of water around them, so the old adage is that if you can keep it on the fairway then you will score well – but also be prepared for very firm and very fast greens, but when you do get the feel of the greens you will definitely enjoy playing Los Lagos golf course at Mijas.

Los Olivos Golf Course

During my visit me and my playing partner preferred the Los Lagos course layout because it was a lot more challenging and also much more manicured and kept unlike the Los Olivos course which was a bit rough around the edges but still a great course and lovely closely mown fairways which always meant a great tight lie to nip the golf ball off of.

Prior to booking any golf with any course I contacted a few courses in the area but the Mijas package was by far the better one to choose from – the cost for 2 players playing unlimited golf for seven days on either Los Lagos or Los Olivos including a golf buggy for all rounds came to 585 Euros which worked out at approx. £272 GBP per person – it would have been more but you need to let them know that you can share one buggy and then they deduct it off of the package deal on their website. Cheap golf breaks in Spain - Mijas Los Lagos

In closing, the staff at Mijas Golf International were always very helpful and accommodating and I would definitely recommend playing these two courses either on an unlimited basis or even just on a round per round basis, well worth the money and well worth the visit and highly recommended.
